Year 12 Retreat

A time for reflection and connection

The Class of 2023 spent three days along Sydney's northern beaches for the Year 12 Retreat in Week 3.

The retreat took place at the Collaroy Centre, which is where the year group had its Year 7 Camp. The nostalgia students felt contributed to the positive mindset they brought to their retreat experience. It also provided students with a warm and relaxing location to revitalise and motivate them for what could be their most important semester at the College.

The highlight of the retreat for students was the range of reflection and affirmation activities that brought an added unity to the Class of 2023. One activity presented students the opportunity to write messages to other members of the cohort, and another required each student to go around in a circle and explain what they admired in the other members of their pastoral class. These activities brought the cohort closer than ever before.

The Year 12 Retreat also involved a Mass, presentations from acting Principal Lachlan McNicol and Year 12 Coordinator Charles Bootes, sunrise walks, an enjoyable few hours on the beach, and a disco night. Students also received letters they had written themselves at the beginning of Year 11.

Throughout the entirety of the retreat, the students of Year 12 participated with enthusiasm, emotion, cooperation, and dignity – setting all students up to end 2023 and their final year at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø on a high.

The College thanks and congratulates Mr Bootes for his organisation and running of the retreat, as well as the Year 12 Pastoral team who contributed greatly to the success of the three-day trip.
