Two days of reflection and activities
The Year 11 Retreat took place at the Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre on 21 and 22 March.
The purpose of the retreat was to engage students in conversation, activities and reflection designed to contribute to their individual and collective formation as a year group.
Year 11 students Christine, Jennifer, and Lara wrote the following report about their time away together:
We arrived at sunny Jindabyne on Thursday 21 March excited and energetic! We had a quick lunch upon arrival, which was nachos, before getting into a big day of activities!
Our first rotation was the puzzle room, which was an escape room with problem solving, math questions, riddles and team building. Our group was the fastest to escape! After that we completed the maze, which was challenging but rewarding. We played a version of Among Us and Bingo Maze where we had to find different students hidden within the maze. It was very enjoyable and something new that we hadn’t tried before.
All the students then met back together in the recreation room for free time before a presentation by Mr Lee and a liturgy. We reflected on our time here and looked into gratitude and what we are grateful for in our lives. After dinner we finished off the night with an intense game of trivia before it was lights out.
The next day was 'go go go,' as we had lots to do before returning to Canberra. The day featured more rotations of activities before lunch. These included mountain biking, archery and more! After lunch we were all super exhausted and ready to make our way back. We had an awesome time at Year 11 Retreat and are grateful for the memories we made and the staff who accompanied us!
