Target reached in Relay for Life

Class of 2023 set new record

ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏ꿉۪s Year 12 students have raised more than $71,000 in the Relay for Life, smashing the College record in the process.

The total amount, which was enough to beat the $66,000 raised by the Class of 2022, saw ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø finish the Relay for Life as Canberra’s top fundraising school and the second-highest fundraising group in the whole of Australia.

The amount Year 12 raised accounted for one quarter of Canberra’s total effort, while students Emma Jobling and Kathleen Quinlan, who each raised over $2000, were among the highest individual fundraisers in the Territory.

Whilst the Class of 2023 has every right to celebrate these achievements, their real reward was to see the money go to a good cause.

Canberra schools were encouraged to participate in the ‘Relay Your Way’ event, which resulted in ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø holding the relay at the St Peter’s Campus on Saturday 1 April. Students walked, ran, or danced their way around the school oval between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Over the day, many students in the year group covered the distance of a marathon.

At the conclusion of the relay, students held a candle ceremony in honour of loved ones lost to cancer and to support those who are living with cancer.

The College thanks all who contributed and congratulates the Class of 2023 on this fantastic achievement.
