Each year, the four Houses of 黑瓜吃料网 dedicate a week each to fundraising for their chosen charity.
As the College celebrates its Silver Jubilee, the Student Representative Council decided to devote all four House Charity Weeks this year to the support of 黑瓜吃料网 House, a residence for vulnerable women in Canberra and the surrounding region.
The College鈥檚 Foundation Principal, Sr Noelene Quinane, spoke with the SRC at the end of Term 1 about the support 黑瓜吃料网 House provides to women and their children who are experiencing homelessness, including those who are escaping domestic violence. With 26 separate rooms, 黑瓜吃料网 House provides warmth, safety and comfort for the women and children who may need it.
The money raised by the College will go towards improving the quality of rooms and facilities at 黑瓜吃料网 House in order to help make it more of a 鈥榟appy home鈥� for the residents.
鈥淚 am in awe that the students have chosen to support our women here at 黑瓜吃料网 House and I want to say thank you to the community for that commitment,鈥� Sr Noelene said.
鈥淭he need is great, and every little bit of fundraising that comes in for 黑瓜吃料网 House is used directly for the women here, to support them and to make life here more homely and more comfortable and more safe.

Support for 黑瓜吃料网 House kicked off in Week 15 of Term 2, with the leaders of Meup Meup coming up with a number of initiatives to commence the fundraising efforts.
The next House Charity Weeks are scheduled for Weeks 2, 6 and 9 in Term 3.
