Goodbye and good luck, Year 12!

The Farewell Assembly

The Class of 2023 have said farewell to ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø at their Year 12 Breakfast and Leavers’ Assembly this morning.

Year 12 commenced the day by gathering for breakfast in Café Bella and F Block, before heading down to the St Peter’s Campus Gymnasium for their final assembly at the College.

The assembly featured emotional tributes, lots of humour, dance and song performances, video clips, photo montages, and several reflections on the past six years the Class of 2023 had spent together at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø. There were speeches from the College Captains, Head of Campus, Year Coordinator Charles Bootes, and the Acting Principal, Lachlan McNicol.

In his address, Mr McNicol also shared a message from Principal Michael Lee, who was unable to be at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø due to his temporary secondment to a school in Melbourne.

A tradition Mr Lee has held during his time at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø has been to read the famous Dr Seuss book, Oh the Places You'll Go. Mr McNicol carried on that tradition at the request of our Year 12 SRC students.

At the end of the assembly, Year 12 were gifted a copy of the book before departing the gymnasium for one last time. Staff and students formed a guard of honour that stretched all the way to the student car park, which gave our Year 12s the chance to personally thank those who had helped make their time at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø so memorable. Many students were in tears as they came to the realisation that their time with their peers and teachers had come to an end.

The College congratulates the Class of 2023 on all that they have achieved at ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø – you’ve now accomplished 13 years of schooling! Thank you for what you've contributed to ºÚ¹Ï³ÔÁÏÍø, and good luck for the future!
