Students attend Government House event
To celebrate Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, four students from Year 12, who were the highest fundraisers for Relay for Life, were invited on behalf of Their Excellencies the Governor-General and Mrs Linda Hurley, for morning tea at Government House on Thursday 18 May.
The students were presented a token of the Governor-General's appreciation for their fundraising efforts. Both the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley recognised and applauded the tremendous effort of Year 12 in raising a total of $73,904 which set a new school record and was the second highest total raised by any group in Australia.
The College congratulates all Year 12 students for supporting this amazing cause and leading by example.
Of course, the fundraising efforts of Year 12 were not possible without the many, many people in our community who donated to the cause. The College once again would like to thank all who contributed.
Cancer Council ACT’s fundraising focus has now shifted from the Relay for Life to the Biggest Morning Tea. If you would like to register to host an event (in May or June) or would like to donate, visit
